How not to ride a bike

by Chris Hawkins @

Well, I managed to become a proper cyclist tonight. Long story short, I picked up a puncture without realising, lost my back wheel into a kerb, and at that point a combo of getting launched off my bike, and realising I had no choice and half diving off onto the pavement happened. The end result:

My poor leg My poor shoulder

I also felt/heard the back of my helmet contact the pavement, so I'm glad I had that on. Lesson to be learned for everyone there. That, along with staying further away from the kerbs so as not to pick up punctures on ridiculously unmaintained drainage grids. Also, while strapping into road pedals is good, it doesn't give you many options when you go over :(

Time to go buy a new inner tube or two tomorrow methinks and start over again!
